Indie Grits + Myrtle Beach Film Festival

This past weekend was a great time to be a film fan in South Carolina. Two film festivals were happening simultaneously—Indie Grits in Columbia and Myrtle Beach International Film Festival— and Strawhouse Pictures had films in both! In case you didn’t know, Strawhouse Pictures is a production company started by our very own Chris Gervais, Micah Troublefield, and former RevenFlo-er Anil Dhokai.

“A Spot in the Sky”, written & directed by Anil was selected for the 12th Annual Myrtle Beach International Film Festival. Recently named one of the top 25 festivals in the world, MBIFF has become a premiere event for South Carolina.

“Crass” played at Indie Grits, a festival in downtown Columbia that includes movies, food, music, and art. Indie Grits has been around since 2007, and for the 2nd time in a row, Micah has taken home the award for “Best Local Grit”! He won previously in 2013 for “21 Questions.” The festival always does an amazing job of involving the whole city of Columbia, with after parties each night at local bars/restaurants and musical performances throughout the city.
