RevenFlo and The Hive are honored to create a website for The Friendship Nine of Rock Hill. This courageous group of men are not quite ready to rest on the unique contribution they made to American History. With an ongoing desire to share their compelling story of struggle and perseverance, they realized the need for a website dedicated to their mission. A mission that emphasizes individual responsibility, leadership and civic duty.

The Friendship Nine want others, especially the youth, to know that the power to change society for the better is within them. Hive students will spend this semester working along side these extraordinary men. It is a rare opportunity for Hive students to not only build The Friendship Nine website but to learn first hand how the City of Rock Hill and our Nation was forever changed due to their acts of heroism.

The Hive, located in downtown Rock Hill, shares a common goal with the City of Rock Hill. Both are interested in growing the need for high tech jobs in the area and in suppling the necessary work force. It seems only natural for The Hive, through its student based web development, design and marketing program, to develop a broader Internet Marketing Presence for the City of Rock Hill.

Hive students from York Tech and Winthrop University work with clients contracted under RevenFlo Web Team over the course of a semester; bringing professional solutions to their marketing objectives. Seems fitting to have these two entities collaborating in support of the local community.

With a mission aimed to educate and empower, having a website that provides easy management of content and marketing versatility could greatly enhance their effectiveness. The Hive, in its third semester of operation, has students from York Tech and Winthrop University who are familier with the unique challenges facing non-profits. When it comes to website development, design and marketing, these students also know the solutions.

Over the course of the semester, under RevenFlo Web Team’s professional leadership, The Hive will create a new website customized to support the growing needs of ICYC and the community they serve.

Renew Our Community (RenewOC), a non-profit company based in York County, bridges the gap between those in need and community service organizations. As unemployment numbers have risen in recent years, basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter have increased as well. With these increases, RenewOC is experiencing greater challenges to meeting their mission.

RenewOC came to RevenFlo and The Hive seeking solutions to their problems. RevenFlo saw an opportunity for RenewOC to improve their outreach capabilities through an improved web presence. With that goal in mind, Hive students are creating a new website for RenewOC at no cost to the non-profit.

The project is a win win for all. Hive students, under RevenFlo’s guidance, gain practical website design and development experience. RenewOC, with an improved website, will be able to better market their services online and ultimately empower community leaders to pool resources for those in need.

Progress at The Hive has skyrocketed since its launch as a pilot project in January 2011. Non-profits have certainly heard the buzz. As semester three gets underway in January 2012, clients are lining up for the professional internet marketing services Hive students are now known to provide.

Keeping it local is one of the inspirations behind The Hive. To often, students acquire sophisticated skill sets, then take them on the road in search of job opportunities. Not only does The Hive train its students for high level internet communication positions, it also works to build local demand for technical innovators; keeping our best and brightest in Rock Hill. Supply, demand and The Hive. By all indicators, the new semester is set on an excellent course.

In the creative process of designing, developing and marketing websites for our clients, the needs of our own RevenFlo website tend to take a back seat. Just as the cobbler’s children had no shoes, our website needed some outfitting. Enter Cindy Kelly. After her spring 2011 internship with RevenFlo, along with her background in business and graphic art, Cindy seemed a natural fit. RevenFlo Web Team is pleased to have her on board making sure we don’t have to run barefoot. Welcome to the team, Cindy.
