Balancing for Fruit

So, we’re presenting fashion with a few projects we’re doing here at RevenFlo. We are working with a few wonderful brands with exciting and compelling people running businesses behind them.

As we present our products, we want the customer to love them – as if encountering this product online is receiving a gift from a good friend. We want authenticity and positivity for the customer’s experience in everything – from presentation to transaction & delivery to product quality. We want our product, our approach, and our delivery to be uniquely and persistently done well.

This desire for a perfection of sorts drives constant improvement, but it must be balanced with the need for momentum.

We need to make a project productive, forgiving of imperfections, to build the momentum to move us forward. We can’t separate planning and doing into large sequential projects. The former is a subset of the latter. We have to start doing, and that includes planning. We have to start planning and executing tasks and iterating deliverables all at the same time. That investment in energy creates forward momentum. Once you get rolling, it’s easier to steer, and you can drive to where you want to go.

So, the wonderful challenge is to maintain a well-coordinated operation with consistently good and surprising deliverables, while pushing forward quickly and with great energy invested. Not a perfect process, but a fruitful one.
