Ethics in Business Keynote Speaker Addresses Social Media in Rock Hill, Charlotte Region

Jason Broadwater of RevenFlo Web Team was honored to be keynote speaker at the March 28 Education & Business Luncheon held in Rock Hill, SC. The luncheon, hosted by York County Regional Chamber, partnered Junior Achievement of The Catawba Region and Catawba Regional Education Center for a precedent gathering of students and business leaders. The Ethics in Social Media Luncheon was well attended. Fifty of the luncheon guests were students from York County high schools, and another fifty guests were local community business leaders.

Keynote speaker, Jason Broadwater, addressed a topic of great professional and personal interest: the ethics of businesses using social media in marketing. Broadwater put forth the question “If social media is casual social space, what are the ethical implications of businesses entering those spaces with the intent to manipulate conversations for the purpose of sales?” Students and business leaders were seated in small, round table groups and given time to discuss questions raised in the keynote address. The forum provided a unique opportunity for students to explore questions put forth by Internet professional, Jason Broadwater, and to enter into small group discussions with other community business leaders.
