RevenFlo’s Jason Broadwater guest at Rock Hill’s Economic Development Retreat

On Friday, October 24, community educators and leaders met for the Rock Hill Economic Development Retreat. The retreat hosted a number of speakers from York Tech, Winthrop University, and local businesses. Beginning at 8 a.m. the focus of this year’s discussion centered around the Knowledge Park Innovation Initiative, a collaborative effort between the community’s leaders and innovators to enhance and develop human capital in and around the Rock Hill, SC area.

Knowledge Park encompasses much of Old Town Rock Hill, including the historic main streets and down to Winthrop University. The Knowledge Park Initiative is funded primarily by a $250,000 grant from the South Carolina Commerce Department and helps provide support for projects engendering innovation, creativity, and opportunity for community growth. Recent projects include the Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab), a 3D printing facility at York Tech; educational classes and a speakers series at the Hive and Winthrop University, respectively; as well as the Technology Incubator at Knowledge Park.

Speakers at the retreat focused on the core values of the Initiative: creativity, opportunity, and innovation. Invited guest speakers included Nicole Davenport of Winthrop University, Amy Love of SC Commerce, and RevenFlo’s Founder and President, Jason Broadwater.

RevenFlo is proud to be a participant in the Knowledge Park Innovation Initiative. Through our work on various campaigns and by identifying with the project’s values and identity, we can help reach the area’s entrepreneurs, educators, and leaders to help make Knowledge Park and the Rock Hill community a better place.

The Rock Hill Economic Development Retreat was hosted Friday, Oct. 24 @8 a.m. at the City Club, 140 E. Main Street in Old Town Rock Hill.
