Jason Broadwater

Founder / President

Bio

Jason was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC. He went to school at The Catawba School, where he met the love of his life Dicksy. Jason played in punk bands that toured the East Coast and Mid West, as well as played shows frequently in the Carolinas. Jason spent his last two high school years at Charlotte Latin, continuing with the bands – writing, performing, recording, booking, and putting out recordings and products. He graduated and went on to the Honors College at the University of South Carolina. He transferred after one year to the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Jason earned a Bachelors in Literature with a concentration in Writing from UNCA and went on to Goddard College in Vermont to earn a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing. Jason and Dicksy moved back to Asheville from Vermont and Jason taught 9th Grade English at a junior high school in Marion, NC. They moved back to York County in 2004 when Jason started RevenFlo, first out of the house, then to an office in York, and then to our building in downtown Rock Hill, SC. Along the way of life, study, and RevenFlo, Jason has written five books – a novel, a book of poetry, a treatise on pedagogy, a bloggish memoir about starting a business, and an economic development exploration of revitalizing historic downtowns in the United States – as well as published a list of original music recordings. Jason has been the producer of such current projects as Givolio, Old Town New World, and The Local Pickup, as well as past projects such as Aday Remus and The Hive. Jason lives in York with Dicksy and their wonderful children. He manages RevenFlo, speaks professionally on economic development, and continues to create and produce creative projects.
